Chad Le Clos’ phenomenal medal-winning haul continued in Tokyo, Japan on Saturday.

The KwaZulu-Natal powerhouse has dominated the FINA/Arena Swimming World Cup series and on this occasion it was two silver medals and a bronze  in Saturday’s day one of the final leg.

In the 200-metre butterfly, the Durban swimmer won the silver medal with a time of 1min 51.00sec, beating Japan’s Hidemasa Sano, who is behind Le Clos on 70 points and finished in fourth place in 1:52.03.

The gold medal went to Takeshi Matsuda in 1:49.50 and the bronze to Kazuya Kaneda in 1:51.05, both from Japan.

Le Clos’ second silver medal came in the 100m individual medley when he touched the wall in a time of 53.33 with the gold and bronze going to Japan’s Takurou Fujii (52.78) and Masafumi Yamaguchi (53.55) respectively.

In a tightly contested 100m freestyle race, Le Clos grabbed the bronze medal clocking 47.48 behind Australia’s Kyle Richardson in 47.31 and Japan’s Kenta Ito in 47.37.

Tomorrow will see Le Clos in action in the 200m freestyle, 100m butterfly and the 200m individual medley races.

The final day of the FINA/Arena Swimming World Cup will be held on Sunday where the winner will claim the $100,000 grand prize, while the second place prize is $50,000 and the third place being $30,000.
