South Africa’s Oscar Pistorius, the athlete commonly known as the ‘Blade Runner’ because he runs on carbon fibre blades, has won the 2012 Laureus World Sportsperson of the Year with a Disability Award at a gala function in London, venue for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
